Dr. Angel Rodriguez-Rivera

Curriculum Developer

Dr. Angel M. Rodriguez-Rivera is a Professor in the Science Department at Broward College, Fort Lauderdale, FL. He is a pioneer in the use of the Internet as an integral part of teaching and learning at the college. Dr. Rodriguez has made numerous presentations on the use of multimedia to enhance education and has been teaching science courses for over twenty-five years. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology from the University of Puerto Rico and his Master of Science degree from Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla, California.  He also holds a doctoral degree in Leadership in Educational Administration from the University of Florida. While at UF, Dr. Rodriguez received the Dr. James L. Wattenbarger Fellowship. Dr. Rodriguez is also a National Hispanic Community College Council Fellow alumnus.

Professor Rodriguez was selected as Professor of the Year in 2000 and 2008. He was awarded the Motorola Endowed Teaching Chair at Broward College in 2005 and the Stephen C. Barker Endowed Teaching Chair in 2013.  He has published several articles spanning from 3-D virtual reality and online virtual labs to implementation of virtualization in higher education.
